Have a Blast: Explosion Injures

Description: Blast explosions can have multiple considerations at the scene and in care of the victims before and after.   This presentation will highlight 4-5 blast incidents in Minnesota in the past two years including a school and power plant along with the types of injuries seen in the victims.   The stages of a blast will be correlated to the injury patterns seen in the victims of these cases. Get ready to have a BLAST!

Objectives:

  • Describe four blast incidents.
  • List six stages of a blast incident.
  • Discuss blast injuries and the considerations for trauma and burn care.
