Description: Early recognition and intervention is critical to saving lives and providing best outcomes. Thinking and acting fast count toward early interventions. This presentation will highlight care across the continuum including the importance of the role for EMS.

Objectives:

  • Identify activation criteria in trauma care.
  • Describe hemorrhage control techniques in both the pre-hospital and acute care hospital setting.
  • Describe the role EMS plays in communication.
  • Describe the role EMS plays in early trauma care interventions.
