Description: Ever turned to your partner and said, “Man these kids today just have no D@%n common sense?” We talk in our classes about “critical thinking” but what does critical thinking really look like in practice? In this discussion we will break down the teaching of critical thinking skills using examples relevant to what we do in the classroom everyday-like teaching whether a patient is “sick” or “not sick”.

Objectives:

  • Discuss what critical thinking in EMS education
  • Explore methods and theories in teaching critical thinking and putting critical thinking into practice in education.
