Drive to Survive – A Deeper Look Into the EMS Role

Description: Emergency Medical Services play a supporting role in our Driving 4 Safe Communities (D4SC) coalition and in helping Education, Engineering and Enforcement inform drivers on ways to improve driver behavior on Minnesota’s roadways. The mission of our D4SC coalition is to provide applicable knowledge to help EMS gain knowledge of the contributing factors of motor vehicle crashes, current trends and crash statistics in efforts to become safer, more attentive drivers in the EMS field.
Objectives:
- Participants will gain knowledge that directory relates to the main 4 reason why crashes happen on Minnesota roads.
- Participants will understand the Towards Zero Death (TZD) initiative to pursue public support of traffic safety as a priority.
- Participants will understand the role they can have to strengthen TZD as a traffic safety partnerships.
- Participants will understand how to promote and implement effective traffic safety strategies into their daily lives; (as well as their jobs as part of the EMS).
