Mary Ellen Bennett is employed by The MN Department of Health with the ICAR Team. ICAR is a new program to promote infection prevention in health care facilities. Previously, she was the Director of Infection Prevention and Employee Occupational Health at Hennepin County Medical Center. She is Board Certified in Infection Control. Ms. Bennett’s background is nursing, and she has been an active member of APIC-MN, which is the professional organization for infection prevention locally and nationally. She is passionate about safe patient care, preventing healthcare associated infections, ensuring safety for healthcare providers, and emergency preparedness.
