Nova McNally – OTR/L
I have specialized in the rehabilitation of patients with TBI for the last eight years. I am the Traumatic Brain Injury Outpatient Program Manager at Hennepin Healthcare. Prior to that I worked as the lead OT and have been responsible for the care of thousands of patients suffering from visual dysfunctions after a mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). Although mTBI comprises 80% of the 3.5 million brain injuries, they have been under diagnosed as well as under-served by the medical community. In the past several years, researchers have found that there is a high prevalence of visual dysfunction in patients with post-concussive syndrome. I am currently a co-investigator of three separate research projects using fMRI, Diffuse tensor imaging and spectroscopy to better understand cerebral structural and metabolic changes associated with post traumatic visual dysfunction.
