Travis Olives – MD
Dr. Olives is a faculty emergency physician and consulting medical toxicologist at Hennepin County Medical Center, associate medical director of the Minnesota Poison Control System, and assistant professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Minnesota. After graduating from Carleton in 1999, Travis earned his Masters of Education and Masters of Public Health at the University of Minnesota, later receiving his medical education from the same institution. He completed a combined residency in Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center, and later a fellowship in Medical Toxicology at Regions Hospital. He is active in graduate and undergraduate medical education and holds diverse research interests in the areas of health literacy and its impact on emergency care, the use of ketamine for the control of profound prehospital agitation, and the impact of ultrapotent fentanyl analogs on the nation’s ongoing opioid epidemic.
